Additionally, they are subject to strict inspections from the moment they are designed until they enter production, to ensure reliability, comfort, performance and safety.
Yes, you can install tyres on your car that are of the right size but have higher speed ratings.
You don’t have to get clearance to do so.
Instead, in all other cases, for your safety and that of others, clearance is absolutely required.
You can simply contact an authorised Dealership, which will provide all the information on all the right tyres for your car.
M+S tyres, whose acronym stands for “mud and snow”, bear these two initials on the sidewall of the tyre and are legally equivalent to winter ones. This type of tyre is also known as “all weather” and “all-season”.
Winter tyres, also known as snow tyres, in addition to the letters M+S, also have a symbol moulded on the side: a three-peak mountain with a snowflake. These latter tyres offer distinctly higher performance both when braking and on snowy roads.
You can find all information on Fix&Go in your car’s Owner’s Manual, or you can consult the instructions contained directly in the kit. We recommend reading them carefully before using it.
You can find the complete range in the section ACCESSORIES.

The ABS system is integrated in the braking system and prevents one or more wheels from locking and therefore skidding under sudden or fierce
This system is integrated in the ESC system. It prevents tyre slip on one or both driving wheels. Irrespective of speed, it uses the braking and engine control systems to optimise traction, eliminating tyre slip and restoring grip. The system uses the signals of the ABS sensors to monitor wheel rotation speed, calculate the degree of slip and restore full grip. The system uses two methods to control slip:
If the drive wheels both slip as the result of excessive power being delivered (as happens during aquaplaning or harsh acceleration on gravel, snow or ice), the system reduces engine torque output.
If, on the other hand, only one wheel slips (e.g. the one on the inside of a bend under acceleration or dynamic load variations), the system brakes this wheel automatically without the driver having to use the brake pedal.
The resulting effect is similar to that of a self-locking differential. ASR is enabled automatically every time the engine is started, but can be disabled simply by means of a switch on the dashboard.
Aquaplaning occurs when the tyres 'float' over water on a wet road. When tyres aquaplane, they no longer grip the asphalt because a layer of water lifts them off. Directional control and braking are reduced as a result.
The air cleaner captures solid particles in the air entering the engine intake and prevents excessive engine wear. The air cleaner and cleaner box also play an important role in reducing the noise produced by the engine air intake.
This system controls headlight orientation. It adapts the vertical angle of the headlights according to road surface and load.  By correcting the vertical angle of the headlights, the system avoids dazzling oncoming drivers and ensures optimal illumination of the road ahead even under full load conditions.
This system controls headlight orientation. Complementing the "ADAPTIVE XENON LIGHT" system, AFS automatically orients dipped beam headlights on bends to illuminate the road in the direction the car is going, thus eliminating dark areas.

Blue&Me lets you use your mobile phone and listen to your favourite music while you drive, easily and safely. The system provides sophisticated hands-free functions. It allows you to use Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones to make and receive calls over the vehicle's sound system, consult your contacts list by scrolling it on the dashboard display and listen to SMS messages spoken in any of 10 languages. A USB port on the tunnel lets you listen to music on an MP3 player or USB memory stick played through the vehicle's own sound system. There is also a Blue&Me version that permits Blue&Me TomTom navigation. See the relevant sections for details on Blue&Me and Blue&Me TomTom.
Bluetooth is a radio-based wireless transmission system that provides connectivity over an area of about 10 metres in closed environments. Bluetooth is reliable, fast (1Mbit/s), energy efficient and extremely portable. PCs, mobile phones, palm-tops, PDAs and most other mobile devices can exchange data over Bluetooth without a connection cable. When available, Bluetooth also provides hands free communication and allows you to use personal devices like mobile phones and palm-tops through your vehicle's sound system.
Blue&Me TomTom is a portable navigator that can be installed and removed from your vehicle in a few simple operations. In addition to all the usual Blue&Me functions* (hands-free, voice recognition, SMS text reader, multimedia player) it lets you:
Follow the graphics on the navigator display by listening to spoken instructions through the speakers.
Navigate to a point of interest or obtain information about your journey.
Recall a destination from those in memory.
Execute certain navigation options using the steering wheel controls or voice commands.
Finally, thanks to integration of data supplied by the vehicle, the GPS allows you to maintain your mapped position even in the absence of a signal, e.g. in tunnels.

C

In addition to the mechanical filtration of particles (pollen, fine powder and other solid pollutants), these combination filters also reduce toxic gases and unpleasant odours by means of a layer of activated carbon. They therefore provide physical and chemical filtration and improve driving comfort.
This electronic driving aid only operates above 30 km/h. It allows you to drive at a preset speed on long, straight and dry roads, with little gear shifting (e.g. motorways) without having to keep your foot on the accelerator pedal.
It is not recommended to use this aid on busy extra-urban roads. Do not use this aid in town.
These lights are integrated in the fog lights themselves. They come on when the dipped beam headlights are on, the vehicle is travelling at a speed under 40 km/h, and either the steering wheel is turned through a significant angle or the direction indicators are switched on. They improve night-time visibility by extending the illuminated area of road in the direction the vehicle is taking.

D

This sensor automatically switches on dipped beam headlights in poor light. The system can be enabled and disabled from the steering column stalk, and the sensitivity level of the sensor itself can be set by means of a menu.
These lights come on automatically when the engine is started. They improve driving safety by increasing passive visibility, i.e. by making your vehicle more visible to oncoming drivers. They are especially effective if the sun is low on the horizon or is reflected from windows along narrow urban streets.
Daytime running lights conform to specific European legislation introduced in 2012.
This system uses a video camera on the windscreen to follow the lines between traffic lanes and to give the driver an acoustic and visual or haptic and visual warning if the vehicle starts to drift across lanes. The system enhances safety in the event of driver distraction. It can be enabled and disabled by a button on the dashboard or by the steering column stalk.
The system only operates under safe conditions at medium to high speed, and only in the event of manoeuvres considered involuntary (e.g. lane changes without a direction indicator or sudden steering movements).
In systems capable of delivering a haptic response (i.e. applying torque to the steering wheel in the opposite direction to the lane change), sensitivity and the torque intensity can be adjusted by means of a menu, and the system disengages automatically if it detects that the driver is not controlling the steering wheel.
This system is integrated in the ESC and EPS systems. It adjusts the action of the electric power steering system to increase driving safety. Under critical conditions (understeer, oversteer, or differences in grip on braking) the system delivers extra torque to the steering to allow the driver to steer correctly.
The diesel particulate filter is installed in the exhaust systems of vehicles with diesel engines. The filter is enclosed in a unit that captures and retains the particles produced by the combustion of diesel fuel.

E

Electronic stability control improves the vehicle's roadholding and handling by correcting any tendency to understeer or oversteer. The system compares the trajectory the vehicle should follow according to the position of the steering wheel with the trajectory the vehicle is actually following, and corrects any difference by reducing engine torque and/or applying differential braking to the wheels. The system counters any loss in stability and returns the vehicle to its correct path.
This system is integrated in the ESC system. Its purpose is to distribute braking force effectively. Under emergency braking conditions, the rear wheels tend to lock as load is transferred to the front. EBD reduces the brake force applied to the rear wheels to prevent them from locking
This system is integrated in the ESC system. It uses the signals of sensors around the vehicle to evaluate the tendency of the wheels to lift off the ground (e.g. during sudden steering to avoid an obstacle), and applies the brakes and reduces engine power to keep the wheels in firm contact with the road

F

This is a tyre repair kit. It repairs tyres without loss of pressure and lets you drive on to a tyre fitting station. The sealing fluid in the kit is compatible with all types of tyre. You will find instructions for using the Fix & Go kit correctly in your Owner Handbook and on the leaflet inside the kit.

G

He positioning signals provided by NAVSTAR, a system of 24 satellites (owned by the U.S. government) which orbit the earth, 12 per hemisphere, and continuously transmit their position in space as well as the exact atomic time. The GPS system uses the data provided by these satellites in conjunction with data obtained from the vehicle's ABS sensors (which measure wheel rotation speed) to establish the vehicle's precise position at all times. By continuously updating the vehicle's position, the navigation system can guide you to your destination using digital maps supplied on a CD-ROM or SD card.

H

This system is integrated in the ESC system. It facilitates starting on hills by keeping the vehicle stationary for the 1 or 2 seconds it takes you to move your foot from the brake to the accelerator. When you stop your vehicle, you press down on the clutch and brake pedals simultaneously. Once the vehicle is stationary, you can safely move your foot off the brake because the system keeps the brakes applied for a short, predetermined time (typically 1-2 seconds). At the end of this delay, the brakes are released and the vehicle will roll back unless you put your foot on the brake or accelerator. To start off on a slope, simply engage 1st gear and start to accelerate while slowly releasing the clutch. Hill Holder releases the brakes as soon as the engine has developed enough torque to move the vehicle.
This system keeps the vehicle at a constant speed selected by the driver, by applying the brakes in an automatic and differential manner when the vehicle is travelling downhill. The system ensures stability and safety especially under low grip and off-road conditions.
This system is integrated in the ESC system. It detects emergency braking on the basis of the speed with which the brake pedal is operated. Under emergency braking conditions, the system applies maximum braking force instantly, even before the driver has pressed the pedal all the way down.

I

Your vehicle is equipped with ISOFIX child restraint system anchorages. Isofix is a new European standard that makes fitting a child restraint system quick, easy and safe.

L

LED lighting systems use LED illumination for the dipped and main beam headlights.
The main benefit of white LED headlights lies in the colour or "colour temperature" of the light emitted, which is almost identical to that of daylight. LED lighting allows the human eye to see the road and the sides of the road in their natural colours, giving far better contrast.
On top of that, the average lifetime of a LED lighting unit is identical to that of the vehicle. LED lights are therefore more reliable and do not require replacement bulbs.

M

This system recognises emergency braking (on the basis of brake pedal operating speed) and speeds up the response of the braking system. It cannot be disabled.

P

This filter cleans the air that enters the passenger compartment through the heating and air conditioning ducts. It provides active protection against pollen, spores, bacteria, fine particles and other pollutants.
Parking sensors are located in the rear bumper and warn the driver, through an intermittent buzzer, of the presence of obstacles behind the vehicle.

R

This sensor automatically activates the windscreen wipers if it starts to rain. The system also controls wipe speed to suit the intensity of the rain. It can be enabled and disabled from the steering column stalk. The sensitivity level of the sensor can also be set from a menu or from the steering column stalk.

S

This system automatically turns the engine off when the vehicle stops and starts it again when the driver needs to move off.
This increases vehicle efficiency by reducing fuel consumption, exhaust emissions and noise pollution.
This system uses a video camera on the windscreen to recognise the lights of other vehicles and urban areas and to select dipped or main beam according to conditions and distance.
The system only operates at medium to high speed. It guarantees maximum visibility at night without dazzling the drivers of oncoming vehicles. It can be enabled and disabled from a menu.

T

This system improves traction on starting off under low grip and off-road conditions.
The TPMS is formed by four valves and four sensors (one of each per wheel), and by a control unit connected to them. The system monitors tyre pressure and detects the cause of low pressure (puncture or underinflation). The system helps extend tyre life, as correct pressure significantly reduces wear. It also helps reduce fuel costs since even a small reduction in tyre pressure can increase consumption.
This system is integrated in the ESC system. It reduces the tendency of the vehicle to understeer on acceleration around bends by applying a braking toque to the front wheel on the inside of the bend, thus increasing the torque delivered to the outside wheel. The system electronically simulates the effect of a mechanical self-locking differential and offers benefits in terms of handling and performance.
This system uses a video camera on the windscreen to recognise and inform the driver of traffic signs like speed limits and overtaking restrictions.
